A founder-led company is one that is led by the same person or team that originally founded the company and/or developed the product. The value assumption here is that a no one takes greater pride in their product or company than the original founder and creator. Studies show that they tend to focus on customer satisfaction, product innovation, and company longevity at least as much as the bottom line, and they often have a deep understanding of the market. These attributes are less common among leadership teams who come later, when the company is acquired or otherwise transfers ownership.
